Never alone, Never far.

SilaCares is an AI-based remote care system for families separated by distance. Sila, our AI, reaches an elderly parent inside WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage — the app already on their phone — and checks on them every day: medication reminders with a real follow-up, meal and wellness check-ins, a voice companion they can call at any hour, and an SOS that alerts family, doctor and a local neighbour at once. The elder buys no device, installs no app, and learns nothing new. Their son or daughter, often a continent away, gets a daily summary and a full care portal.
Adult children aged 30–55 living apart from a parent — diaspora families first, in Singapore, London, the Gulf and North America, then urban professionals whose parents remain in a home town. They are already paying for elder care in phone calls, unplanned flights and guilt. We give that worry somewhere useful to go.
The parent, aged roughly 65 to 90, living independently and managing daily medication. They have a phone and they use one messaging app. That is the entire technical requirement. No purchase, no installation, no instructions, and nothing to charge.
The World Health Organization finds only about half of people with chronic conditions take their medicines as prescribed. Asia-Pacific’s over-60 population reaches 1.3 billion by 2050, and their children have moved away for work. Distance does not remove the care — it removes the information.
A subscription paid by the adult child: Basic at $10 a month per loved one, Premium at $25, and a Custom tier for multi-elder families, clinics, home-care agencies and white-label or API access. Annual billing includes two months free.
We reviewed thirteen products in this category, from ElliQ and GrandPad to Alexa Together and Sensi.AI. Every one of them asks the elder to buy a device or install an app, at $150–350 upfront plus $25–60 a month. That is why those devices end up in drawers. SilaCares asks the elder to do nothing new, and it is the only product closing the whole loop — proactive check-in, timed follow-up, two-way voice, a companion line, and a multi-party SOS — inside one subscription.
What we deliberately do not do: passive fall detection or ambient sensing. SilaCares depends on your loved one having their phone to hand. We would rather say so than sell a promise the product cannot keep.
