SilaCares (“we”, “us”), a HawkEyes company with its registered office at 2nd Floor, House 5, Road 12, Sector 1, Uttara, Dhaka 1230, Bangladesh, provides AI-assisted remote care services for elderly people and their families. Privacy is not a compliance checkbox for us — the trust of families is our entire product. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the rights you hold.
Account data: your name, email, password (hashed), WhatsApp number and time zone. Care profile data: the information you provide about your loved one — name, age, location, language, messaging channel and number, medication schedules, meal and health routines, local buddy details, and optional doctor and hospital information. Interaction data: messages, voice notes and calls exchanged between your loved one and Sila, their transcriptions and summaries, adherence confirmations, mood entries and SOS events. Technical data: basic logs needed to keep the service secure and reliable.
We process data to deliver the care service you contracted (performance of contract): sending reminders, understanding replies, generating summaries and reports, and operating the SOS chain. We process health-related information — medication and routine data — only with the explicit consent you provide during setup, which you may withdraw at any time. We never use your family's data for advertising, never sell it, and never train general-purpose AI models on it.
Sila's companion runs on a retrieval-based (RAG) architecture: it draws its answers strictly from the rules and knowledge configured for your family and from its defined care role. Conversations are used to provide the service — reminders, summaries, alerts — and are visible to the account's family caregiver as summaries. We are transparent with elderly users that Sila is an AI assistant.
Data is shared only as the service requires: summaries with you; SOS alerts (including relevant health context, doctor and hospital details) with the emergency contacts you configured; message delivery via the platform your loved one uses (WhatsApp/Meta, Telegram, or Apple iMessage, under their respective terms); and carefully selected processors (hosting, AI inference, messaging infrastructure) bound by data-processing agreements. We disclose data to authorities only where legally compelled.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is role-restricted and logged, and we retain personal data only while your account is active or as law requires. On deletion of a profile or account, associated personal data is erased or irreversibly anonymised within 30 days.
Under the GDPR and equivalent laws, you and your loved one may access, correct, export, restrict or delete personal data, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time — via the portal or by writing to privacy@SilaCares.com. EU/UK residents may also lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. We honour these rights for the elderly person directly as well as the account holder.
Questions about this policy: privacy@SilaCares.com, or by post to the address above. We will update this policy as the service evolves and will notify account holders of material changes before they take effect.
